Interest in our fleet of electric vehicles at TEDGlobal 2013 in Edinburgh is running high. The short breaks between conference sessions see the Nissan LEAF, Renault Zoe and Renault Twizy out on the streets of the city giving attendees test drives and rides.

Alliance CEO Carlos Ghosn has handed over the keys of a Renault ZOE to Martin Bouygues, Chairman and CEO of Bouygues, the French construction and media conglomerate.

The handover this Monday seals the two groups' determination to unite in their commitment to the environment and combine their visions of an eco-system which allies electric mobility with sustainable construction. 

The Renault ZOE and Nissan LEAF have found a new lease of life as police patrol cars, with constabularies in the UK and France choosing to equip their officers with the zero-emission vehicles.

In 2010, the city of Lyon adopted an equitable and sustainable approach to urban management through its territorial climate and energy plan (PCET). Further reflecting its environmental aims, the city acquired a pool of ten Renault ZOE vehicles in March 2013.

The Renault ZOE is shown as instigating a revolution in a TV ad entitled "The fall of the wall". By showcasing the vehicle's lack of noise and emissions, the ad portrays the ZOE as a leader in the new era of electric mobility.

Renault’s electric supermini ZOE will launch across Europe in the coming months. The vehicle, which was designed from scratch as an electric vehicle,  is produced at the Flins plant in France on the same line as the Clio.  The manufacturing process for ZOE is similar to that for an internal combustion engine car – with a few exceptions. As well as promoting the benefits of zero-emission mobility to its public, the French authorities are practising what they preach: they are buying more than 17,000 electric vehicles from Renault for use by the government and public authorities.
