Junko Ishige runs a rabbit hotel in Tokyo and uses her red Nissan LEAF to shuttle the pets to and from their owners. Ishige didn’t buy the electric car for the rabbits. But she quickly discovered that even rabbits enjoy the car’s comfortable and quiet ride.

Locals and tourists made the most of Paris's first ever car-free day on Sunday 27th September, with around one third of the city closed to motorized vehicles. The initiative was generally viewed as a success, with many campaigners demanding it becomes a regular event.

Paris to go car-free for one day this month

Parisians will be guaranteed a traffic-free day on the 27th of September, as the city enforces a complete ban on motorized vehicles. The initiative, which will take place on a Sunday, is part of City Hall's long-term strategy to reduce pollution and promote cleaner, alternative modes of transport.
